Price comparison

Hello all, following on from posts some while ago, I'm after price comparisons between .243 and .308 ammo.

 

I have to confess I'm veering towards a .243, just for all round useability and the fact that I'm highly unlikely to go stalking in Scotland.

 

On another note, why would a Steyr Mannlicher have 2 triggers?

The first trigger sets the pull on the back trigger, to have a lighter pull you pull the front trigger to adjust the back trigger for shooting.

for quality hunting ammo you won't see a difference in price between 243 and 308. If you want to buy semi cheaper military surplus ammo (if you can find it here or anymore) then you might save a few pence here or there with a 308.

 

Pick the one that suits your needs and forget about the price of ammo. In the long haul, you won't shoot enough shots to make any difference worth it.

It's called a 'set' trigger, Pedro, and works as BIB says above. A lot of people like set triggers. Personally, for the type of shooting I do, I don't get on with them.

Thanks for the replies, it turns out the price I can afford has been drastically lowered by Mrs P. , so it looks as though it's going to be a Cz550 .243 with a good scope on top.
