wildfowler.250
OK the barrel has now been chopped and the end product, yes this is the end looks like this.I was thinking of cutting the fore end back to just in front of the second cutout, but have just nipped an inch or so off the end for now. Looks superb! Is there still a 4 month wait? And can you get it sent as a 'gift' or does it make no difference? Ooh and can you fit one of those to a .223 or is it specifically cz rimfire? Any help is greatly appreciated! .....I should never have set eyes on this thread
Dunkield
Looks superb! Thank youIs there still a 4 month wait? No idea I haven't ordered on in over a year And can you get it sent as a 'gift' or does it make no difference? I doubt they would do it, the price is fair it's the poor exchange rate that bumps it up Ooh and can you fit one of those to a .223 or is it specifically cz rimfire? It depends what make/model have a look at their site to see what they do Any help is greatly appreciated! .....I should never have set eyes on this thread http://www.rifle-stocks.com/

skinny
After reading this thread i might order one of those stocks from the US. I got quoted £170 for a new ABS one, as mine has a big crack throught the stock behind the bolt.
jam1e
Appreciate this is an old thread, however, i'd like to ask a few questions as my Richards Micro Stock is due to be delivered today. It's a tigerwood laminate variety. If i decide to take the wood down a shade or 2, what would you people advise me to use? Also, what finishing products would you reccomend? I've heard mixed reports about Tru-Oil. Some people stating it never dries. Yet others say it works fine and only very old, (Stale) Tru-Oil fails to dry properly. Some advice would be appreciated. Dunkield
Can't help on the staining front, tru-oil is a bit of a marmite product. If you use a tiny amount and apply loads of coats you can get good results, but you can't rush it and that is where 99% of people who don't get on with fall foul. jam1e
Anybody got any ideas whether a new bare laminated stock can be finished in coloured wax alone?
