Spent last weekend with mates in newquay, and my god the weather was ****.

But back to the original topic.

Was out on a booze run in the evening, on the way to the offy, had stopped on my side of the road, indicating right, and was sat completely still for at least 2 mins waiting for the other side of the road to be clear, when i felt a mild nudge(and i mean mild, felt like i had slipped the clutch a bit quick). First I thought I had done something, and then realised i was in the middle of the road, foot planted on the brake and the clutch. And then came to the conclusion that i had just been rear ended, oh what joy, at which point most expletives under the sun came out. Looked in the rear view to see a ****** off chav in a silver polo stuck to my bumper. I drove slowly forward onto the curb. Turned off, and hand brake up. Saw the chav coming out of his car looking rather ****** off, and looking for someone to blame. At which point 7 decent sized blokes got out of my defender and his face completely changed. I got out to ***** the damage. We all sought of just stood there silent for about 2 mins and then he cherped up what i was looking for......

"Sorry mate was all my fault."

Thank god for that i thought. I asked for his details at which point he got them out and we exchanged details.

My mate then asked him what happened. According to him he was coming around the corner over the brow of the hill, saw my car and put his brakes on, at which point they locked and he slid into the back of me. he reckons he was doing less then 20. I admit it was wet, but he must have been doing 30 at least. Although i was ****** off, i wasnt to bothered as it was gonna be him paying and not me.

Now for the good bits........ the pics

First is of his car

Then the damage to mine

so through this we come to the conclusion that driving into a defender is not a good idea :o

cheers

Just be aware that he may tell the insurance company a very different story. An identical accident happened to a friend, the guy who drove into the back of him was most apologetic, "totally my fault mate" etc. He then told the insurance company that my mate had reversed into him!

A mate of mine had a head on ages back on a country road. he had a 110 defender, other driver had a rover 400. Other driver was completely on the wrong side of the road and the skid marks proved it also. Result was one seriously written off rover, one scratched defender and a cracked number plate. My mate was mega annoyed at having to buy a new No. plate at the time too.

Strong as an ox are the defenders. Good to see no one was injured.

Hahaha serves him right, they all need to learn the hard way, i did 4 months after i passed my driving test, all i can remember thinking was "christ that was easy".

Now im a different driver altogether...

Glad to see the landy gave as good as it got

Atleast now you can get the whole thing resprayed at the other blokes expense

was in a 30 mile an hour head on before between a golf and a range rover.

unluckily for me I was in the golf

outside a farm yard, cow plop all over the road, pressed the breaks and poo-planed into the range rover. Golf was a write off but the range rover had a cracked headlight

lesson learned. I need to buy a jeep
