Bagsy
A mate in Ipswich has just started shooting (picked his first gun up today) and is looking for friendly, cheap grounds near Ipswich where he can learn the ropes. I'm aware of the bigger shoots such as High Lodge, Barrow Heath etc, but can any of our Suffolk cousins recommend any straw bale shoots in the area which may be worth a look? There are usually some dotted about which don't advertise....... Cheers

Bagsy
Cheers Bob, I've already told him about that one as I reckon it fits the bill nicely. Will probably venture up there again in the not too distant future. Need to check his finger to trigger ratio Can't do this Saturday - got Big Als and a house wrecking event to attend and he wants to pop down the A12 on Sunday. Any others about? bob300w
In Suffolk? s'trewth man, that's over the river. Maybe Wookie or Tractorboy can help, they both seem reasonably sane for Suffickers.
tractorboy
there is a clay ground at drinkstone also lakenheath i have nt been to either but heard good reports .btms could help though
Wookie
Moi? Reasonably sane? I'd almost believe that was a compliment Bob! Near Ipswich eh? Apart from the normal ones, (High lodge, Lakenheath etc) I'm drawing a blank on local small clay shoots. If you've got that one saaaath of the border, I'd say get to it. Lakenheaths a bit far and a bit pricey for my liking and High Lodge is north of Sax (which is almost in Naaarfolk!).
MC
Bagsy, He is welcome to come with me, although that would mean defecting into Essex most of my local shoots are only 1/2 hour or so from Ipswich. If you want give him my mobile no. and get him to give me a ring.

Errr,....no, I've met Harnser, he's normal, apart from the webbed feet that is. I've also met a Suffick girl who had more than specified quota of parts. Chard
Why would anybody want to shoot straw bales? Is it because they're Zuffickites?
bob300w
Why would anybody want to shoot straw bales? Is it because they're Zuffickites? It's an old Suffick ritual, something to do with fertility gods, witchcraft, and morris dancers. That and the fact that they can't hit clays, they need summat larger. Bagsy
Suffolk trap, for throwing bales; And I bet they'd still miss 'em, even at that size. Maybe that's why they didn't go to High Lodge last month, it's not a strw bale shoot and the clays are too small....
