Rimfire
Hi Guys, Did anyone watch Casualty on BBC1 on Saturday night? I know its sad but I happened to watch it. The politicians at the BBC are at it again. Quote "He got in with the wrong lot at university, you know, that hunting, shooting, fishing crowd" unquote. I intend to complain to the BBC about this programme as it continued with its anti-hunting views with nurses being unkind and agressive towards the horse rider who had been injured. I would appreciate the views of anyone else who watched this programme so that I can put a case to them. Regards to all. Rimfire
pete evans
i saw the show and did think it was anti hunting and political. funnily my wife who is a nurse is nutral and isnt interested in hunting was annoyed as it showed a nurse lacking the professionalism to not let hes views cloud her performance. maybee someone at the bbc feels that this chaps broken neck is somehow symbolic of their predicted demise of the hunting comunity. to be perfectly frank im not terribly surprised about this sort of stuff from the bbc and dont feel a show like casualty is that influential to the hunting debate. pete
ollie
I never saw the show but from what you said it doesn't sound good, a letter to them probably wouldn't make much difference if they are really anti hunting.
Rimfire
Hi Guys, Well I have complained to the BBC and like you say they will probably take no notice, but if you don't try you don't get. Regards Rimfire
millo2
I know this has nothing to do with hunting and casualty, but has something to do with the BBC. They have, for years, glorified the sport of rugby union, more coverage, reports on their website etc than rugby league, which attracts more fans at a club level, hence being more popular. They then only show a programme called the super league show in Northern areas of the country as they feel only people in the north watch league, whereas sky's viewing figures of all the rugby league shows they broadcast show that 50% of the viewers are from the south. The BBC has its ways of portraying how it feels and will not take any notice of anyone who objects to this, as we as rugby league fans bombard them with emails week in week out
Crowblaster
The American Press is even worse in that regard. ALL reporting involving guns and hunting is biased towards the wacko tree huggers and bunny puckers. Makes me ill. Just as the press is controlled by those in power with only a democratic view point...not republican...aargh!
Rimfire
Hi Guys, Just a quick update on the situation. I have had a reply from the BBC and they say they are taking my complaint seriously. They will research the issue and provide me with an update/answer by NLT 14 Dec 04. This should be interesting. I will post the reply when they get back to me. Regards Rimfire
Rimfire
Hi Guys, As promised, I said I would post the reply the BBC sent to me. I cant post it all as it was three pages long but the gist of it is that they carried out an investigation into my complaint and viewed the programme and interviewed the programme makers. The findings were that in the BBCs opinion the comments were the views of the individuals concerned. Now lets think about this for a moment!!!!!!!! If it had been a documentory, I could understand this comment, however, it wasn't, it was a drama programme that was written by or for the BBC, so how could it be the views of the individuals concerned, or am I missing something. Best regards Rimfire
