IT WAS A VERY GOOD BULL WITH EXCELLENT MARKINGS AND COLOUR WHICH UNFORTUNATELY DOESN'T SHOW TOO WELL ON THE PHOTO BECAUSE OF THE CAMERA FLASH

GLASS ARTIST
Looks expensive to me... Fun but expensive. I am certainly not a rich man by any stretch of the imagination, but it is something I have always wanted to do Thorndale safaris do some good packages the one I did was Wildebeest, kudu, blesbok, springbok, impala, and duiker -cost £1950 all inclusive apart from airfares (£680) I added a bushbuck (£380) to this .but they gave me a warthog, kudu cow free. I can recommend THORNDALE SAFARIS they are first class we also did some lamping free for porcupine, springhares, foxes etc THORNDALE SAFARIS HAVE A STAND AT THE MIDLAND GAME FAIR THIS YEAR- GO AND HAVE A LOOK -MENTION MY NAME -DAVID WHYMAN

For those who're interested Africa has some of the best shooting (not just for big game of the 4 legged variety but also wing shooting) in the world and (IMO) it's not dear. Only be careful...there are places that cater for the worst yanks where it's almost like shooting in a zoo! Do some research and talk with people who've been before committing to a visit. Oh and with all respect to Glass Artist check what the 'inclusive' price means as I'll put money on it that he hasn't included the mounts and delivery in the above figures. You (generally) don't bring the trophies home with you, they follow later in BIG crates and be prepared to pay plenty for those. Also try to fly BA direct, there are cheaper flights but if you're carrying guns BA are the best if not the cheapest. If you take the Saturday afternoon special you'll arrive in say Joburg on Sunday morning with no jet lag as the time zone is the same as here. GLASS ARTIST
Can you bring back mounts etc if you go through customs correctly? yes not a problem no cites needed on these, you can have the heads mounted out there but then you have a big cost all at once. I am having mine mounted in England by Penine taxidermy studios because he is one of the best and he specialises in African species, the salted skins and skulls are sent direct to him- this takes a few months as the safari company has to have the skins dipped, inspected by a vet and a import export licence has to be prepared. When the crate arrives David Hollingworth at Pennine taxidermy will mount them whenever you want them done, as you can afford them so you can have them mounted over a period of time. you need a fair space for the kudu---about 5-6 feet high
GLASS ARTIST
Do you stalk them or shoot them when they come to the feeding points? all stalked although they do have high seats aswell the wildebeest was the longest walk and stalk I had eventually shooting it at 200 yards on open plain

I was struggling a bit to find a space for the kudu as you have to allow about 5 foot in hight eventually found it will fit in the stair well going up to the attic bedroom much to the disgust of my missus
