mudpatten
The Xtrema mk 1 has a chequered history. I had one but got shot of it very quickly, the main reason being that I could`nt hit anything with it by virtue of its great length, weight and general unwieldyness. If you shoot nothing but high duck and geese it might be worth considering, its slow handling is`nt such a disadvantage for such birds, but try shooting teal in the half light and its handling issues become apparent. The real proof of the pudding is to ask yourself why, when so many other Beretta autos were a design progression of the preceding model, many with interchangeable parts, they threw away the mould with the Mk1 and started again from scratch with the Mk2 which is a completely different gun with no interchangeable parts, despite many apparent similarities. Sales of the mk1 bombed in the US, Berettas main market place, which prompted the re-design. Both have the rotating bolt and whilst the Mk2 is an excellent gun, the Mk1 is a complete lemon, production of which has ceased and for which spares are hard to obtain. Nick. njc110381
The Xtrema 2 has a recoil reducer in the stock. I had the MK1 and it was fine, apart from feeling like I was swinging a tree trunk around! I'm too small for a big gun like that!

chrispti
I don't suppose anyone has a spare cocking handle lying around for the x2? Top tip, don't lean your gun up against you shooting seat whilst sat on top of a concrete sea wall on a windy day !!!!!!!

neil smith
I don't suppose anyone has a spare cocking handle lying around for the x2? Its the same as a Benelli M2 cocking handle, this one is nice because its a good size but does not add to much weight to the bolt. Cactus also ship to the UK but if you dont wish to order from them Pete Starley in Warwick also stocks them. http://www.cactustactical.com/osc/nordic-c...559f744c10abb52 N Edited September 7, 2008 by neil smith
