Topgunners
Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I have had time to actually sit down and do some posts. I have been very very busy at work, working all over the place, midlands, wales , worcs, shrops. I have been out and about as usual and have shot many various bags and also training up 2 new shooters who have got the bug - big-style. Total bags in the last 4 weeks are Pigeons 514 "Blackies" 210 Rabbits 42 Foxes 3 Ducks 7 Geese 9 Went to the Midland Game Fair on Saturday and had a great day and spent loads but did not see 1 PW Badge anywhere. Got a new toy to try out this weekend. NOT a gun. The goose shooting has been a surprise and half; as I only just acquired permission from a farmer to shoot over his stretch of river. He informed me that close on 100-150 geese flight over his farm, feeding on his grass fields and then flying down to the river. We were there at first light yesterday morning and as we arrived in the fog we could hear the honking in the distance as 2 skeins had already flown past us and over the river. Quick grab of the shell bag and guns and off we run down to the last field to await any more geese , hopefully.!!!!!!! Well, to say I was surprised is a massive under-statement as we counted in all 17 SKEINS flew over in the next 45 mins for well over 400 geese. Some flying too high, some too far across the other side of the field but we managed 9 in all and now we know the flight paths we will be there again very soon. Could have done with 6 guns or more all spread out along the river, but to see so many continuously flighting over was brilliant. We picked up the birds and carried them back across 2 fields to the jeep (arms killing) I then went on to another farm to try out my new toy. See other post NEW TOY. We returned with another PW member (william)last night but only had 2 skeins come over near enough but unfortunately none dropped and then about 70 in a skein flew down the opposite end of the adjacent field. Packed up about 19.30pm and went home to enjoy my Sunday Roast. was "hank marvin" Dave K
