GP1 Posted September 22, 2008 Report Share Posted September 22, 2008 I have just purchased a Steyr Scout Tactical and it shoots lovely with the cartridges that came with it, on the bottom of the casing is the initials .223 REM R.P does anyone know what this round is, all i know is its a Remington round but not sure if its a home load. It means Remington Peters. the manufacturer Remington Peters is correct for the brass,but the bullet,primer,and powder,is anyones guess. With pics we may be able to tell you the manufacturer and type of bullet,the weight in grains we may be able to give an educated guess at.But as for the primer type and the powder type god knows. Could you pull the bullet and weigh it and also weigh the powder charge?,you may then be able to cross reference the charge weight in published data,but I wouldn't bank on it.
