BASC or CA ?

Our BASC membership has recently lapsed, at £62 + £20 as opposed to £30 for me, and the boy goes free for similar-ish liability and personal injury insurance cover + legal insurance, which is very handy indeed nowadays it seems like a no-brainer. Taking everything into account if i was really honest my main reason for joining any organisation is the insurance cover provided and i suspect a lot of people will be the same, so politics aside it looks like the SACS will be getting another couple of members from well south of the border.

That's my way of thinking, if I'm going for the Insurance I may aswell have what's best for me.

I'm swapping to the SACS this month, I want to be covered for everything that I do in my sport, + the Legal Cover a bonus,

BJ.

I'm with BASC at the moment. I joined primarily for the insurance cover, but also for the work that they do to support shooting generally. I have found the BASC firearms dept very helpful when I've phoned for advice. However, like everyone else else in the country I'm suffering the grip financially and want value for money too.

There is also an interesting thread in the Guntrader forums So I'm not sure what to make of BASC at present.

BASC list as their first reason to join

"The strongest voice for British shooting" looks less like it to me.

BASC sugested that if the like of SACS,NGA CA etc are not reginstered with the FSA the insurance it not worth the paper it is writen on.

But because the like of SACS,NGA, CA are not selling you directly an insurance policy but that the insurance is simply provided to members as part of the services include as membership benefits. Under these circumstances,

the FSA regulations do not apply.
