Labs will chew anything till about 2-3 years old

worst thing you can do is leave them alone in the house for long periods of time .

Got my last lab at 8 months old free of charge, as they went out to work all day and the dog was destroying the house .

Never had to much trouble with him myself ,boredom is all it was .

basicly if left alone they are the same as any dog get bored and chew as they have energy to burn right ok thanks for that i.d love to have her the fun of training and reap the rewards and hopefully save my leggs lol lol .i tried a young cocker last year and he dstroyed the place if i went into another room not even leaveing the house he was hard work and had to go.i will give this some thought before i agree.

My lab is nearly 2 years old and he has started to chew up my sofa. So I will not have him in the living room when the new one arrives.

As has been said already its boredom, a dog can only sleep for so many ours a day it has to do something to keep its brain working.

I agree with all, it's bordeom that is the factor..not age!

All breeds can chew throughout their lifespan..it's not unique to Labs, but because they are "busy" dogs they tend to be top of the chew ranks!

Just take into account not leaving her alone, and if you se the behaviour showing...nip it in the bud and confine the space she is left in! A crate can help...but only with some dogs! :good:

And a frozen carrot or two, great for teething & when she is left on her own.

Will keep her amused !! Worked well for my lab. :D
