southernlad
Just bought this oldtimer for £280. It's in reasonable nick, stock is a bit rough though. So I have a few questions for anyone who knows: 1. It has the old style beretta choke system (the one before mobilchokes). Anyone know if/where you can get them (I only have quarter and half)? 2. Does anyone know if/where you can get a replacement stock and fore-end from? Have a bit of a soft spot for the older guns, so don't mind spending a bit on it to make it nice. Anyone got one of these and know if it's a fairly reliable design? I've read alot about the 303 but there's less info available on the net about the 301. Any info would be welcome! cheers SL
deny essex
Had a 301 for many years and my son still uses it , never had any problem with it at all, faultless. but couldnt tell you where to get the chokes or stock.
mickeylove
Ive only ever had 1 choke with my 302 since ive had it ( 3 dots whatever that is) and I do ok with it, although I take it out altogether for skeet.
southernlad
cheers for the replies fellas. So nobody knows a spare parts dealer? Going to Canada and the US soon so guess I'll have to have a look there. In the meantime, if anyone's got any ideas let me know! cheers SL
Catamong
Hi SL, They saw you coming if you paid that much for it with a dodgy stock & forend. Try the main importers for the latest models; http://www.gmk.co.uk/ Or you could try Chris Potter Guns, he has loads of Beretta spares in stock: http://www.gun.co.uk/ It's always a good idea to get an independent valuation from somebody in the know before you commit to buy. Cat.
southernlad
Thanks Cat, I'll give him a go. I know what you mean about the gun, but I've been after a 300 series for ages and they just disappear as soon as they hit the shelf around here so it was a bit of an impulse buy. It works well and the actions is in good nick but I probly did pay too much for it!
wisecobandit
Exactly how bad is the stock mate? Its suprising what you can do and bring them back to life. As for chokes i assume its got the external type thread choke? The barrels are interchangable between the 301/302/303 so i would keep your eye open for a 303 barrel and replace it. Ive used mid west guns before and they have lots of replacement spares you maybe interested in.They are american but never had any problems with them. http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/c...tta-303-shotgun
Andy H
If you try here www.brignoliarmi.com you should find nearly every Beretta spare you will ever want for any model of gun that you are after , and the prices are less than 50% of what you will pay at GMK ,and thats including shipping from Italy.
