Looking at the guidelines...

..it looks like you're ok to give away or sell small numbers of shot pigeon.

If however you take the breast meat off to make it more palatable for people not

used to 'butchery' then you should have food hygene training.

Is this right?

Has anyone here done the training course?

My understanding is that you can give shot game away, but you need the certification if you intend to sell it oven ready, or in the feather.

I would add that I have yet to be asked for a certificate by the Processor that takes my pigeons.

The guidelines suggest that you can give away or sell small amounts in the feather, but as soon

as you 'process' it you need the certificate.

This is going to make it difficult getting people buying into eating game if you have to give

them the whole pigeon/rabbit.

:-(

Yes, I have my food hygene tickets (for Both Large and small).

And, yes, you've basicly gotten it right.

The problem with the largest part of most of the food hygene laws, is that they sound good on paper, but in real life there just stupid.

A good example of this, is did you know that you have to dig a 3 meter deep hole to bury any unwanted animal (minus rats - which is still like 2ft)
