Imperfection
Earlier,i went to local gunshop to stock up on cartridges and on way back i decided to take the longer scenic route for a change. As i came round a bend in middle of nowhere, the field on the left suddenly came alive with a good couple hundred of wood pigeons and they all flew up into the air when spooked by sound of my car (this is really rural here so not a lot of traffic). Never one to pass up an opportunity-i went to the nearest farm and asked if it was possible i could have permission to shoot. The farmer told me someone already takes care of them, but he took my details because they're not very regular and seemed genuinly intrested in me.He also asked if i had a problem with walking to the furtherist fields because apparently previous shooters have pestered him for lifts in his tractor! Fingers crossed something comes of this cause this particular field was heaving in woodies!
Cranfield
Good luck and don't forget to call round there again, if you don't hear anything in the next few weeks. The pigeons will soon be giving the rape some welly and now is the time that Farmers attention gets focused.
Imperfection
Yep,i'll call round again in a few weeks if i hear nothing incase he looses my details. This evening,i printed my name, address etc on a business card type thing and will leave these in car because i ended up writing my details for the farmer on back of an old shopping list i found in door pocket! Would be good to get in here because he has an awful lot of land and to be honest-theres more than enough for both myself and this other gun to go round. I do have another permission for pigeon, but they're shooting game at moment and i have to wait for the paid up members to have their bit first! Comp
..... I suggest you go to www.fastcards.co.uk or www.vistaprint.co.uk , they will print you up a test run of 250 business cards, for just the cost of postage!! I have my name, home & mobile number, e-mail address, and "Free Vermin Control" printed on mine, and leave them all over, willy-nilly!!! I find them very useful Cheers, Fred
