Zapp
Guys Has anybody on here had any experience with the little LED "Cluster" lamps that you can clip on to your scope? What I need to know is what kind of range they will give you (I have it in mind for my .22lr so am looking for performance to 100 yards), and how long the battery will last. Many thanks for any help anyone can give. ZB
Highlander
Not seen them used in that context but I use one as a headlight (straps to forehead) and gives a good torch type light to about 10 feet. Can't see them being much use as a scope light for lamping unless you're creeping up on bunnies with a pea shooter!
410PHIL
L.E.D'S have no focal lengTH so they tend to just flood an area with light in my opinion you are much better off with a Deben tracer or similar..
cubix
Halfords sell a cracking stubby silver waterproof torch for £18. It lights up an area out to 100m really well. Takes 3 AAA batteries. I have no idea how it manages to put out the light intensity it does. Take the rubber slip-on grip off, then attach it to your scope with a couple of spare scope mounts. I had to splay them out a little as torch is slightly bigger than my 1 inch scope, heat with a hair dryer then close them in a vice around a socket the same diameter as your scope then let them cool. Takes a few minutes. No need to spend £150 on a set up.
Browning GTS
I find that these work well on my .22 not made as a gunlight but fits into a solarforce mount a treat http://www.light-reviews.com/fenix_tk11/
Dave-G
The cluster type lamps are better as a walking lamp than a scope one. I'm hearing good reports on the bbs about the ledray's from deben. I have something sililar from Hong Kong ebay - yet to try it though.
