amp
help needed with the above. Gun has had approx 5000 cartridges through it and is now intermittently failing to cycle properly. It will fire and eject but the following cartridge will either not enter the barrel fully or will not lock in place so the firing pin doesnt engage, and you have to open and shut it manually, very frustrating on those second shots.Any suggestions gratefully recieved.Have tried different cartridges to no effect. malkiserow
Have you tried a very good clean and oil up afterwards ?
Trussman
Also, are you using light loads? I suspect giving it a very thorough clean would sort it out.

Billy.
I seem to be having a similar problem with mine too. Just a 'click' is heard and the tiniest mark on the cartridge. Clearly the pin isn't engaging with the cartridge. I might give mine a good clean and I'll report back.
Trussman
clear pigeon 32g 6s or rotweil 30g 6s only used Why don't you try a few Magnum shells in it? This could loosen the action abit. Is it the 3 or the 3 1/2 inch version?
Imperfection
I know you've cleaned it,but are the two gas ports being kept clear because if not it wont have enough energy to cycle.I also saw on YouTube another Escort owner mention he has to spray WD40 inside the magazine occasionally when it fails to cycle.See here and read the comments under video. harfordwmj-I've heard of light strikes with an Escort before and it needed a gunsmith to look at it. asap
I seem to be having a similar problem with mine too. Just a 'click' is heard and the tiniest mark on the cartridge. Clearly the pin isn't engaging with the cartridge. I might give mine a good clean and I'll report back. Hi mate i had the same trouble with my escort after about 1500 carts. It was anoying as it would cycle fine and then you would just get a click as if the firing pin wasnt getting hit hard enough, not every time though but enough to be very anoying. Anyway this is how i sorted mine , first cock the gun and release the bolt, then with a punch tap out the 2 pins that hold in the trigger unit. When this is out carefully hold onto the hammer and pull the trigger, let the hammer forward and catch the cap and spring which will come out from below. Then lift the gaurd at the front of the unit and then you can punch out the pin that holds the hammer in. This is were the problem was with mine as the hammer has a slightly elongated hole in it and sometimes the bottom of the hammer was just binding with the trigger unit housing so i just ground or filed about a 1mm off the bottom of it and its been perfect since. A bit off a telltale sign if yours is doing the same is when you take out the hammer mine was shiny on the bottom where it had been fouling. Hope this helps and any trouble pm me

amp
thanks for the replies ive tried the wd40 in the mag tube which seems to have solved it. I certainly would not have thought of that, thanks again to asap and imperfection
EvoCars
just to add to the above, when the triggers out, remove the hammer and make sure the cup and spring underneath it are clean, they tend to fill u with **** over time and it weakens the how hard the hammer comes forward, and make sure you use carts 67.5mm or longer, mine will work with 65mm carts but not 100% on cycling them, any other length or size and its perfect
kev 1
Can anyone post a picture of the gas holes in the escort semi?
Billy.
Can anyone post a picture of the gas holes in the escort semi? None, sorry. However, when the gun's in bits, look down the barrel and you'll see two little holes. they should line up with the lump of metal that's halfway down the barrel with a sping intergrated into it. codling99
should be fine with 70 mm carts or 32 grams ,light and short carts used to misfire in my escort, great with bigger loads.
