I'm after a new gun safe with a bigger capacity I'm thinking of the sl9+ model it says that its not for scoped rifles even though the specs say the depth is the same as my current rl5+ does anybody know what makes it not suitable for scoped rifles and if it can be altered to take scope rifles.

Cheers,

Sean.

just to let you know-- the SL9 will fit scoped rifles,it is exactly the same dimensions as the RL9,, all you,ll have to do is get yourself a new peice of foam to "rest" youre rifles on in the safe as the old peice is shallow and will not accomodate scoped rifles ,

i bought an SL9 from Paul and it is fine !!!!

( if you can,t find a peice of solid foam let me know and i will get you a peice and send it to you ( My mate has a foam manufacturing place :) )

shaun :good:

Hi sean c

I have an sl9+ and have no probs with scopes but i get the feeling if you try and fit your list of guns into the safe it will be a little bit tight, the reason being that the 9+ uses the sides of the cabnet to store guns and these spaces are covered if you place a scoped rifle against the back.

I only have 3 scoped rifles and 2 shotguns

I did think that the difference would be the foam divider. I think i will rl7+ as it's the same price and saves messing about getting some more foam.

Thats the trouble hunter space is getting a little tight now and with 2 possibly 3 more on the way it's time to upgrade.

P.S What sort of price would i get for my old 5 gun shotgun safe.
