Taff Mason
hello guys, i recently bought a lightwieght pigeon magnet, but when i used it for the first time on the weekend it didn't seem to be spinning to its full potential. the battery was fully charged and the speed controller was on the maximum setting but it still wasn't quite as fast as other ones i've seen. don't get me wrong its fast enough, it worked a treat on the weekend, im probably just being paranoid. i think it may be because its the ''lightweight'' version maybe the motor doesn't turn as fast as the bigger ones. i've also been told that new motors take time to wear in.(something to do with bushes) don't know how true this is though. anyone else have any expirience with anything like this before? thanks TAFF
webber
Would have been useful if you could have indicated how many revs per minute your machine is doing? webber
Taff Mason
i should have took note of that really, i'll confirm this next time im back home but i reckon around about 20 rpm
webber
Taff If you are going to set it up at home dont forget to load the arms with dead birds before doing your test. webber

soontjen
try it with a few hypa flap decoy's on it ?? i use a heavy 4 arm magnet and i'm sure it would slow down with 2 or even 4 dead bird's on it ...you could even try using the smaller pigeon's you shoot ... but i have no problem with these hypa flap's
chrispti
What amperage is the battery you are using? also try it without the speed controller, see if it will go any faster connected directly to the batt.
magman
Also bought a lightwieght pigeon magnet and it dosen't spin as fast as the old one But the pigeons don't seem to mind
Taff Mason
i had air-pro decoys on it and they are really light. the batt is 7 amps/hour but if i take the speed controler off it goes just as fast. to be honest its probably right an im just being a bit paranoid
chrispti
Did any birds come into the airpros?
Taff Mason
yeah mate they worked brilliantly, i got 37 in a 4 hour session. they were coming in from hundreds of yards away and when i shot most of them kept trying to land. the only thing i dont like is that they are a bit bulky. but i got round that by taking the wings off when i carry them and put them back together when i use them. foggy11
Hi all.... Ive just purchased two sillysock pigeons to put on the magnet £45 for two However , went out to see just how they were goin to look and work , and blow me down if two woodies tried to land on me before i had even made it back to the hedge line.... Suffice to say yes these ones work briliantley.......the flapping motion is very realistic indeed... Cant wait to get out with me new Benelli M2 and have a proper go with them... chrispti
I never managed to pull in any woodys with air-pros, I then painted the wings so they had a bar on them, they worked but not as well as dead birds. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=62699
Taff Mason
they must have modified them now mate, the ones i have are already painted white on the bottom part of each wing. when they spin it looks likw a white stripe on each wing. Tis1979
Yeah mine came with the stripe on too, Had to buy some see if they worked But i'm still of a mixed opinion as with all things pigeon some days great other days seemed to put them off or make them shy. still it would be no fun if it was easy. lol
leaseone
On the Light weight you need the Hyper Flappers, Put them on mine and shot 44 in 2 hours. they say that the dead birds on the lightweight are to heavy?
bgrangeb
you serious can you honestly not put real birds on the lightweight rotary?
