Drive By
I did have a bit of a search but couldn't find an answer... I've been thinking about getting along to a shooting auction (shotguns and the like) and was wondering if anyone on her could recommend a good one. I've heard of a couple of 'big' ones in London but was wondering if these sort of auctions are held slightly more locally (in Essex). Thanks for any help you guys can provide. Fatcatsplat
Have also not been to one (yet) but had a look online at Holts as they seem to be the biggest, based on reviews in the shooting press - They seem to flog everything from pairs of really expensive Purdeys to cheapo single barrel Baikals, all in the same sale. The expected sale prices don't look too ugly either.
Baldrick
Southams is a small gun auction run from Peterborough. There is an auction held in Norfolk (somewhere around Kings Lynn IIRC). Both have classified ads in the back of Shooting Times. I'd rate Holt's auction as the best by a country mile, having bought and sold some gems there. Mungler
The Holts catalogue is a right old slog to get through and the search function hard work. Looks like a load of old dogs for sale that the gun shops couldn't get rid of for love nor money.
Baldrick
That depends on what you are looking for, Mungler.
