evilstoat
Hi just a quick question please...is a caution classed as a conviction and should a caution be disclosed on the SGC application Cheers Rod
libs
tell them EVERYTHING, they have access to it anyway, telling them just makes you seem honest and upfront.
roadkill
even if you have had speeding points you must tell them
evilstoat
I thought as much...honesty is the best policy, like you guys said shows you are not hiding anything. Thanks guys very grateful for the prompt reply
libs
If you don't mind telling us, how long ago did you get said caution? and what was it for. i.e a caution for possetion of an air weapon in a public place last week might be more of a problem that one for littering in the 70's . evilstoat
I have had 3 Enhanced CRB checks over the last 6 months 2 came back yesterday to do with my job, working with vunreble people, and none of the employers have had a problem with anything on there. So hopefully the police won't...but i have been shooting with air rifles for over two years and feel it's time for me to move on, with getting a recent permission on alot of land nearby with a friend who has a SGC Keep the replies coming Cheers
Imperfection
I agree-be honest. When i filled my application in,i genuinly forgot about 3 minor motoring convictions i picked up in 1986.When the FAO came to inview me i told him my goof and he was absolutely fine. All i had to do was initial my application where he added the convictions details. poontang
Shouldn't be a problem, as long as you declare it. I had a caution for being a little bit 'naughty' one night, but had no probs with SGC. 2 years later. Good luck.

Jim145
I had a caution when I was a minor. I was advised this wasn't a conviction, so I didn't need to declare it. Also when I recieved the caution I was told once I was 18 it would be wiped, and no record of it would remain. So when the Police came round twelve years later - it was the first thing he asked about! It wasn't a problem, I just explained it was a "one off" and obviously nothing like that has ever happened since. My advice though - declare everything! evilstoat
I have taken the info i disclosed on the SGC application from my CRB's...if there is anything that goes back further. or which an enhanced CRB doesn't show up and you genuinely don't remember would that count against you? or could this be remedied during your interview? ozzy518
All I can say is ....Relax mate, A caution is not a conviction, only a court can convict you of a crime. Having said that, any cautions/ reprimands and even points on your licence ought to be disclosed at the earliest opportunity. What the licencing dept are looking for here is integrity. Should there be anything that you genuinely have forgotton, the FEO may ask you about.. Like us, they are human too..(well, mostly) Your FEO visit will almost certainly be a casual affair but make sure you know the basics. He may ask you how far shotgun pellets will fly when shot that sort of thing. Oh, and one final word of wisdom, when he asks why you want a shotgun, don't say that it's because the voices in your head are telling you to get one

Guest
Should I declare this caution I got when I was like 16 riding as passanger on a scooter without a helmet. I mean I have had an enhanced crb with my job (Casino Worker) and it didn't even come up, the police never mentioned it. I don't know what I should do. I declared everything on a seperate piece of paper with a note declaring that the dates of the offences were to the best of my knowledge, even going back as far as 1976, I hid nothing.
