Lloyd90
Anyone have any experience with these guys ? Been given a good deal on one and am really considering it. Either a wood or synthetic semi. I only really do rough pigeon shooting and such. What do you think ? I was leaning towards the wood one,you can see the gun here http://www.midlandguncompany.co.uk/product...amp;product=
clayman
Another company offering Turkish guns at modest prices. You get what you pay for. What will be better, a new Midland or Webley and Scott (same Turkish pedigree in their gun productions), or a second hand Browning / Beretta / Winchester / Remington etc for the same money? Trussman
Had a look at one in the shop. Seemed ok, but then again, as Clayman said, not in the same league as Beretta etc. Still, would be a good knockabout gun. If it were me, I would go for the syntheic version. On a SxS or O/U I'd prefer a nice wood stock, but on a semi that's probably gonna see a lot of abuse and knocks in the pigeon hide I'd prefer synthetic. Lloyd90
I would go for a 2nd hand beretta or something but at the moment just cant afford it. Especially now since christmas is over my work has really dried up Been offered a good deal on one of these guns. Im not going to be shooting in the olympics, just doing some rough pigeon shooting and such. Maybe hit the local clay grounds once a fortnight. Reckon I'll be alright ? Trussman
Yes, but put some heavy loads through it first to loosen it up a bit. Don't expect it to shoot light loads at first. It should get better over time, though.
Lloyd90
Cheers Mate What would you class as light loads ? And how many regular / heavy loads would you put through it. 100 ? 200 ? 500 ? 1000 ? lol! I normally use 30 or 32g loads so Im hoping I'll be ok Hope these guns dont jam alot Time will probally tell
Trussman
I would say that 24g is light. Seeing as your not going to be shooting that many clays with it I wouldn't worry about it cycling 28g loads. I think I'm correct in saying that these guns are magnum proofed. If you do have any cycling problems then it may be worthwile buying a box or two of 36g or above cartridges and put them through the gun. Lloyd90
How do you know if its magnum proofed ? Its a 3" chamber. hmm. They are steel proofed so I think I should be ok
Trussman
In their magazine adverts and their website it says they are steel shot proof, so they'll be magnum proofed as well (or at least they should be).
Lloyd90
Sweet, thanks mate Do you know anywhere I can get a review on em ? Theres not many about
Trussman
Well as it would happen, there is a new magazine out called 'The game and clay shotgun guide' or something along those lines. It's a new mag and is only available at WH Smiths. It has a review in there, along with alot of other reviews. The wood on the Demon looks amazing and it got a positive reveiw. Well worth buying. Lloyd90
I went today and picked one up I did like the wood but thought the synthetic one would be better Plus it also looked good sort of tactical haha I got it about 5.30 and it was already getting dark. I really wanted to get out and use it but decided to leave it until tomorrow had some business to sort out lol Anyways it looks pretty good, has 5 chokes with it, a 3 year warranty and I knocked off a few bob so am pleased with what I came away with. I can see myself purchasing a Beretta or something in the future when im a rich man and a better shot hahaha but for now I cant wait to get out with the semi and have a pop at some pigeons (Or whatever I legally can ) Cheers trussman for all the help mate

Lloyd90
Sent you a pm I did like the wood aswell mate but for a rough gun thats going to get knocked about and maybe be out in the rain, you cant really beat the synthetic The wood takes a knock and its marked / scratched. The synthetic takes one and its no big deal, no scratch and even if there is it isn't as bad Maybe when I win the lotto I will also get a Benelli M2 Semi Auto. They look amazing but sadly outa my price range haha ! One day my friend one day
