mosa
Just thought i'd post this. Me and a good friend of mine (also on here im sure he will be along shortly) were out controlling vermin (rabbits) on our golf course when he shot a rabbit at about 40 yrds to give 5 or 10 which ended up facing away from him but never the less we are there to remove them so he took it out. On removing the meat etc he found that the entry shot was just above its left rear leg and the hollow point round was found still under the rabbits fur just above its front right leg (when you spin it).It had mushroomed as it is supposed to but was quite supprised it was still there as i wondered how far the round would go after hitting a rabbit. Now you know
PaulABF
Bearing in mind Mosa that the round itself didn't penetrate flesh - it just travelled up under the skin. Strange, but erotically satisfying nonetheless!

Dave-G
It's likely the bullet is still there due to the amount of sticky material it had to expend its energy in. When you skin them its amazing how well the fur feels "glued" on. A bullet very rarely remains in a head or upper body side on shot. Zapp
I skinned a rabbit Wabbitbosher had shot in the chest and had the mushroomed bullet fall out from under the skin on its bum. Bullets do some spooky things once in contact with flesh and bone! ZB
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
I've not found a bullit in a rabbit yet. One rabbit did have a smashed back bone, the bullit traveled the length of the back bone smashing it as it went along the path of the spine. william
Twice I have found .22 bullets in rabbits they entered at the neck and once they were gutted and skinned I found they had travelled down through the body and lodged near to the back leg. They had mushroomed as mentioned earlyer. Both wre shot from around 80yds.
wabbitbosher
I head shot a rabbit at 50 yards with a 22 hollow point (NOT A .17 HMR ZAPP YOU PIG) and gut shot the rabbit 2 or 3 yards behind it with the same bullet ! No bullet found in either rabbit
