shadow mag
what is the best for rabbit shooting. 177 or 22 i am getting a bsa ultra pcp. can you tell me what you think please. thanks alot
LeeinVA
The .177 would be the most accurate of the two Calibres as the trajectory of the .22 is more pronounced.. However, the .22 does have more frontal lineage and creats a greater wound channel.. And loads easier on those cold days, while wearing gloves, as they are larger in size
RABID_DOGG
in my books the .22 the .177 is more for targets
Marky Mark
That is a tricky one and one that i think comes down to personal preference, some will tell you .22 as it is a bigger slug etc, some will tell you .177 for accuracy and flatter trajectory!! I personally prefer .22 Have you tried either yet? Mark
lord_seagrave
.20 all the way. LS
Easy Bully
At 12ftlb I would say .177 for sure, due to flat trajectory, cost of pellets..etc although this debate would go on forever as each person generally has their own opinion. Best thing to do is got to a club and try both calibres and see what you think. Shot placement is the key for a clean kill and from my experience I can get better groups at various ranges out to around 40yards with the .177 EB Edited January 8, 2009 by Easy Bully
Easy Bully
I have not tried .20 so cant really comment on that. EB Edited January 8, 2009 by Easy Bully

LeeinVA
That is a Calibre of air rifle.. .177, .20,. 22 & .25.. The .20 has a lot of good points about it
laf
i have a .22 ultra great gun it is what you need to take into account is that shot count as the ultra only carries a small amount ov air and .22 uses less than .
03luffmb
Your opinion, I use both 177 and 22 just depends on where im going if i know i might take some longer range shots then i use 177 but close up jobs 22. Can't go wrong with either cal

para90
if your hide shooting you mark out the distance so the trajectory should n`t be a brob as there is no guess work so the 22 has the vote as its more stable windage wise in the air . your flater trajectory losses its advantage if you have to allow for more windage i would love to try the 20. ive heard only good things about it as long as you get a good pellet to match your gun happy shooting................ its all good lol
mark_mjs93
i have seen it on these forums somewere before someone said that you should use .177 for feather .22 for fur... i dont know if that helps but to be honest my personal favroite is the .22.
