dazza
I'm applying for a license to buy powder and bullet heads. On the form the options are 'Small arms Nitro compound' and 'Gunpowder'. Which one do I need and how many kgs should I apply for?
cleaner4hire
nitro is what normal reloading uses if im not mistaken - ie vitt n133 is a nitro, gunpowder is used in muskets and such like. weight wise - depends how many different powders you would require
yanibaby
Yeah, Nitro is the stuff you need... Unless you're making black powder cartridges

I have to fill it in including the powder I want, the weight in kg's and the address of where I'm going to buy it and store it. I then send it to the PSNI Explosives Officer for my district. He sends me back form 30/09 which I take to the dealer and he sells me the powder.
craigyboy
Dazza ask for 2 kg's of powder and 1000 primers, this will be enough to load 1000 cartridges in .222/.223 etc, also my advice would be to take it straight into Newtonards police station and drop it in, they handle all the "licsence to buy explosives" applications, turnaround is usually 3 weeks. If you need any help with reloading give me a shout.
