Carbonrocket
I, have shot lots of rabbits and given them to my dad for preperation. At last I have skinned and gutted my first and the first of this year and it will not be the last. It was a lovely male. I was sneaking up on a couple of warrens, time was 16:20 today. I slinked up along a JCB path heading towards the warrens keeping low alongside dead under growth. The buck ran out in front of me at about 45 m I stopped but he did not. The rifle went into sight was but he did not stop untill about 38 m. I had stopped advancing and was in a tucked fire position. When he stopped he looked at the new 'tree' he had it in the eye socket. Backwards flip stone dead! Ok many people shoot rabbits including me but... This was my first gutting and skinning. I think I did well. My fellow shooter is a trained chef but all game given to him was already prepared, from looking at U tube and info on our forum I gutted it and skinned it. What do you think, we both learned a lot this evening and it will be good eating. Edited January 10, 2009 by Carbonrocket

Carbonrocket
good work fella; love the marigolds!! I have about 400 pairs of Marigolds! The truth of this shoot is; We were shooting on about 200 acres of a sewage works I am in charge of. My friend the chef phoned me to say he had gone back to the office block to have a drink and toilet. I rattled the door to show him the rabbit but he was still on the toilet. I left the rabbit by the door and went off to look for others, he came out too look at the kill and let the door slam behind him. We were now both locked out of our office block with both our entrance keys in our mess room. I had to kick in a door run to get my keys and overide the alarms. Then repair the door I damaged then place a hasp and staple on that door. 45 minutes! Monday I will have to explain to my boss what has happened and have a chippy replace the door frame. He is happy for me to sort out rat and rabbits but he IS going to roast my nads unless I can hide it somewhere in my budgets. I can post pictures tomorrow of what I did to the door frame and how I repaired it if anyone is interested. That rabbit is going to be cooked but so am I. ****** Edited January 10, 2009 by Carbonrocket

SAVAGE HMR
Your boss should probably consider himself lucky that you weren't there taking care of the pests with a shotgun, if your lazy like me you'd think twice about exerting all that energy kicking a door in and choose to simply blow it off it's hinges! Carbonrocket
Vandals are everywhere this time of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your boss should be grateful you chased them off before they did more damage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you get my drift!! :good:Now that's an idea!
