old rooster
Very worrying, we've been getting rabbits with young in them since December in some areas, got one little blighter about 8 inches long yesterday. These climatic changes really aren't good and they seem to have come about in a fairly short space of time. I can't believe I'm complaining about the warmth as I take all my main holidays in the sun but there is a time and place for all types of weather. Fisherman Mike
I noticed two wood pigeons mating yesterday. Have a blackbirds nest in the garden in a leylandii tree with 4 eggs and last night driving home late through the country lanes saw several of the new seasons young rabbits. Last weekend I was amazed at the number of male great tits already calling out their mating song Winter what winter???. I am sure the snowdrops in this area are well advanced too as well as the bluebells in the woods. FM.

pigeon master
Its very strange this. Put two nest boxes up and within 10 minutes the blue tits were in there marking their turf. If all the wildlife starts to breed this early year after year then these woodies and rabbits could be a real problem. yipee Keith nice shoot you got there, I noticed your car at the bridge the other day on my way to work....did you have a good day mate, trying out your new magnet maybe. If you need a hand next week give me a shout, I've been chocker block over the last few weeks to pay off xmas, but things are starting to slow so keep me in mind next week. Happy shooting lads, May your shots be accurate and your bags monsters. The PM
old rooster
If all the wildlife starts to breed this early year after year then these woodies and rabbits could be a real problem. yipee Hmmmm, not so sure PM, certainly been a pain as far as ferreting is concerned as we've had a very early end to the season this year. Also a scarcity of pigeons on rape due to other natural food being too readily available. I wonder if the milder weather means the woodies need less to eat to sustain themselves ?. pigeon master
Old rooster, True, I dont go ferreting so I didnt think of that, I was out today with the rimmy and managed 7 rabbits, I supose if they're banging young out already then the airgun or rimmy are the only options. I didnt see any young ones today out of the 100 to 150 rabbits I watched, but I'm up north and small pockets of snow were still on the floor so mine will be a little late. Global warming my friend, we dont have long before we see major change but will we change things in time......? I dont think so. Happy days The PM
