thinxs
Just wondering what the law is regarding the selling of dead (shot) pigeons. Do they have to go through a game dealer or if you had some and a resturant was happy to buy them is that allowed?
henry d
No, yes
M ROBSON
If you sell birds direct to the food chain, eg restaraunt, public....etc, then technically you need a game dealers licience issued by your local council. If you sell to a game dealer you don't. Mark.
henry d
I believe the technicality is just small numbers and in feather/fur. Unless anyone knows more??
Warlock
Quite agree, direct to a gamedealer no licence required, they just take your name and address for their books for traceability reasons. i believe a game licence from the council is like £4 or something silly used to get them from the post office. henry d
Game licence(or properly Licence to shoot game) is different to a game dealers licence.
henry d
I can`t find the English specific one but this is from the FSA regarding Scotland......... ........or give away or sell small quantities(under 10 000 small game or under 300 deer/annum) of game in fur or feather to friends, pubs, restaurants in the local area...........then the requirement may not affect you. Nial
`Fraid not, but there again why sell on good tasty meat ?? It's more about giving it to friends/colleagues etc to get them to try it. But strictly we can only pass on whole birds which fewer people will want to take.
