malkiserow Posted February 6, 2009 Report Share Posted February 6, 2009 I've a spare pigeon processing jig which opens up the birds in seconds to leave the crown in one hand the waste in the other (no plucking involved). Foot operated jig to keep the operator in control at all times. This has replaceable jaws and replaceable jaw return spring for hygiene. Spares are available from Wilco shops and probably from other shops as well. It is made of steel and disassembles (in less than a minute) for ease of cleaning and lubrication. Fixes to a post or to a wall for use. Probably the quickest and easiest way to get large quantities of Pigeons ready for your freezer. £93 plus delivery or you can collect from Coventry area. If you saw how easy preparing birds are on it, you would agree is worth £93 easily! If you are near Plymouth on Tuesday 17th you can see it and give it a go. The jaws are steel and enamelled. I cannot do a video as I don't have a video camera. However the machine works very like the link above but made very differentely. And as I said it is fully disassembled in a minute or so. The jaws and spring are all replacable if ever required. No meat would touch the steel chassis so it does not need to be stainless steel. The key are for the meat are the jaws which are enamelled (I think) and easy to keep clean and wash with dissenfectant etc. It is a very effective bit of kit.
