The majority of manufacturers are oversea, even most English sounding brands are manufactured Spain, Italy, Turkey or elsewhere.

The manufacturers will have a main dealer appointed in the UK. These will have major stocks and spares, and deal with distribution to the retailers and warranty claims etc.

Some retailers may import directly from the manufacturers, so called "grey imports". With no middle man, potentially these may be cheaper, but they may not have the support of local warranty ( ie return to overseas factory rather than UK distributor, and if the retailer goes bust, the UK distributor is unlikely to be helpful - bye bye g'tee) , and they may have differing specs as they could be being made for a different market place, so spares might also be a problem.

Edgar are mainstream, one of the biggest wholesale distributors with tight control on who resells the products they represent. If you buy from one of their appointed resellers, you will have full UK support for the product.

If you find a rather cheap one at GungHo Gary's Emporium, ask a few questions about the specifications, extras and warranty.
