ME
I am using my mothers car at the moment while she is away for a few months, the car has a private plate (so I cant tell the age of the car) and a letter has turned up from the dealership where she bought it saying that the car is due it's first MOT. Is there a database that is publicly available where I can put in a car registration number and it will tell you the date of first registration of a car ? What age does a car have its first MOT anyway ? Edited February 20, 2009 by LV

al4x
If this works its the one if not try www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk and do a vehicle enquiry and will tell you when it was registered http://www.taxdisc.direct.gov.uk/EvlPortal...event=link.next
Skippy
Hi, no there is no database available to the public. The car must be MOT'd by or on the third aniversary of its first registration. You will need to find the V5 document (registration of current keeper) to establish the exact date, or perhaps phone the dealership where it was purchased from.
