Carbonrocket
Hello all, I use IR night vision but have the question someone may answer. I have a powerful torch I can fit to my rifle, if I put an IR filter on it, will it help with the IR illumination? Or should I go for an IR emitter? Which is better? triscrx
Yes it will work if the filter is IR matey. I use one to boost the range of my monocular :(
Markio
Yes it will work if the filter is IR matey. I use one to boost the range of my monocular :( Same here. Works a treat, in fact at closer ranges the lamp we use is almost too powerful, it's like a white out!

All you other beggers jumping on the bandwagon. Hell the price has gone up for filters. Darn!!!! Got one now though! Carbon
Beardo
cheers Carbon, i won it in the end (and not for a stupid price). i'm probably only going to use half of it (size of my Tracer mini), so might have some spare if you get stuck
Carbonrocket
cheers Carbon, i won it in the end (and not for a stupid price).i'm probably only going to use half of it (size of my Tracer mini), so might have some spare if you get stuck Thanks for that I had actually won and paid for that other item on Ebay in my previous post. Ideal for ratting as I can quickly remove the yukon and lense cap and shoot with a lamp as the rats I have found dont know what is happening. I have now also bought that lense as you have. This one in my previous link I have just tried out in my garden. Its a rubber mounted lense you can quickly fit and remove over your torch/lamp. Does it work? Hell yes!!!! Damn the prices for the Yukon IR emitter, get yourself a half decent torch with a pressure pad on/off and fit an IR lense. I will use my yukon IR for normal shooting and will now use the Filter system for longer ranges. I am going to try it on my S410 for rabbits at 40 m in the dark. Methinks there will be many bunns falling to this system. How did people manage to live in the past without technology? I would have starved to death a long time ago,,,, maybe!
