Cranfield
Does anyone here have any experience of Benelli shotguns ? I visited a few commercial shoots recently and they have guns available for clients, who don,t have their own (overseas visitors mainly). I noticed that they were always Benelli shotguns (autos). I asked the owners of two of the shooting grounds why they had Benelli, was it because they were cheap ? The answer they gave was, "due to their extreme reliability". The guns are not cheap, about mid range and have a rock solid reputation. One chap told me that his guns fire around 25,000+ cartridges a year, with no jammings or mechanical breakdowns. They are cleaned properly and thats all. Quite a testimonial to a guns reliability.
meandassey
Hi Cranfield, nice to have you back! The Benelli got a good review in Sporting Gun a few months ago. It uses inertia recoil to cycle rather than gases so doesnt get so dirty. Plus its got fewer moving parts to break! They really liked it. NGhost
I have a Bennelli Super Centro, Its not cheap but has everything I want in a gun. A couple of times I have put a few hundred shells through (on a clay ground) put it away without cleaning and it still cycled 24g loads next time out. Cleaning is realy easy, put the paradox cleaning mop through the barel, wipe the bolt, put in locker, done. The heaviest load I have used was 56g, the lightest was a 24g subsonic (a very, very light home load) it would jam with this load but then the load gives vertualy no recoil. I would not exchang it for any other sa. Oh yes they use beretta chokes. (not suprising as I beleve Benelli are owned by beretta)

Deako
I've had a benelli super 90 in realtree finish for about a year. The only time its ever jammed was when I stripped it down to about a thousand pieces to see if I could get it back together again. I could'nt. They are avery good gun and stay much cleaner than the gas operated types.
