Illuminated scopes

Just means illumintaed reitcule (ie cross hairs) this is a bit of a gimmic on cheaper scopes as although the reticule lights up (selectable on/off red/green etc) and is nice an visable in low light, it does not enhance the sight picture and in some circumstances does the opposit as the light from the reticule effects your night vision rendering you less likely to be able to pick out quarry in low light conditions.

if you can find zos scopes on ebay give them a shot, they are the official manufacturers of scopes for the chinese army. i use one on my 10/22 (3 - 9 illuminated, had a hawke and it was ****, i gave it away!) and my mate uses one on a .223 (6-24 illuminated). theyre cheap and good quality - the gunshop didnt even try to flog him another scope when he got his .223 once they saw the one he had!
