shot shot
I'm sure the .338 would be a versatile round for rabbits, foxes, red deer and the taliban!
fullbore
Friend of mine has one for stalking on Jura and plains game in Africa
Billy.
So you decided to buy one after reading that? "the L115A3 virtually guarantees "one round, one kill" at ranges of more than a mile" I take it the above statement was the key selling point? I think that my .270 would have the same statement in a write up, but they would include the line "In the hands of a trained military marksman, with decades of experience and hundreds of thousands of kills on paper." The gun will be like lugging round a .50BMG and you might struggle to find your local gunshop selling large quantaties of these rounds. I believe the round is desiged to have maximum damage possible, to better kill whatever the target it's fired at. So you're not going to have much left if you fire it at anything in this country. Baldrick
Apply for a '.338 Lapua Magnum'. For target shooting only? Are you aware of the muzzle energy limitations at Bisley and on MoD ranges?
The Burpster
I know and understand the ardent followers of AI but after playing with one of these in .338Lap a year or so ago..... I know which I'd rather use.... http://www.sako.fi/sakotrgmodels.php?trg42
Wookie
Nah... you want one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CheyTac_Intervention .408 and sub-MOA accuracy to 2500 yards. But, you do have the same problems as the .338 Lap Mag and the .50 BMG for finding places to shoot.
