I recently moved to southwestern France from Northern California where I was in the fly fishing and gun business, and found the forum while looking for info on calling foxes. Over the last twenty years I've hunted wild pigeons on the California coast, as well as here in the Pyrenees from tree blinds. I've had a few good barnyard shoots but never enough. Now that I no longer have coyotes and bobcats to bother, the fox will be the new calling game. I'm also a woodturner and make duck, goose and predator calls.

Great forum, and I hope to learn a bunch.

Hi Nick:

Yes I do. I've made southern style box turkey calls for almost twenty years, and a couple years ago made the mistake of getting a lathe. The primary interest was in pintail/widgeon whistles, but mallard calls came soon afterwards along with predator calls and short reed honker calls. I've used various guts from different people and have been satisfied with them hunting in California and Alberta. I'm sure I have lots more to learn, but the geese think they are OK.

I don't yet know the picture posting thing, but if you pm me I'll email you some photos if you like.
