henry d
Had one of my best working ferrets die suddenly week last Sunday, then last Sunday while out cod fishing with a mate ,who`s a `keeper,he tells me that he was handed one that was roaming the streets of the local village.Albino hob as friendly as they come. Will have to see if he`s any good down below(no silly comments please !).Just goes to show that when one goes there`s always one to replace them, just so long as he works ok. VERMIN DROPPER, good comments mate, a man after my own heart, this is a symptom of our modern 'throw away' society, Ferret dies, get another, plenty about, so why worry! Fortunately I'm of the old school of ferret keepers and do care a toss about my animals, I'll admit to shedding a few tears when one of my furry working partners die. LONGNETTER. henry d
Certainly do mate got my first 2(bubble and squeak) 6yr ago and found that I needed more due to the amount of rabbits,so I got roobarb and custard next season.Roobarb was vasectomised and had many a good time with my jills as well as a few other ferreters jills to bring them out of season.Last year he developed a lump on his head and was operated on and the lump sent for analysis, and thankfully it was just a cyst.next year he had another, again removed, but perhaps due to the amount of ops or what ever he lost condition but after a month isolated and lots of vits and a varied diet(chopped liver tripe etc)he gained weight but it only lasted a couple of weeks and he just diedone morning before I could say hi to him.Roobarb has cost me a couple of hundred pounds in money but was a priceless member of my hunting team and therefore deserved the best.I buried him in the woods near my houseand I often walk the dogs past there and to mark it I planted a sapling.I hope this clears up any misunderstanding anyone may have as to how I treat my animals.
