Lloyd90
Boll*cks! There are several hunting and lamping appreciation groups on facebook that I am a member of and many more that I am not of and they all have photo sections where people have photo's of themselves with theie guns and bags much like our photo section! Either this idiot did something or is full of rubbish! Posting a picture of yourself with your gun is NOT a crime and there's no mention of not being allowed to do it! If any part of this is true Id be right onto BASC to get it sorted and make the Police give an official written apology! Bloomin ridiculous!!! It's ok for footballers, rugby players of rally drivers to post pictures of they're sports and things but not ok for shooters ?

It's ok for footballers, rugby players of rally drivers to post pictures of they're sports and things but not ok for shooters ? I never said I believed the story as it was told, In fact I said I was somewhat suspicious of it. I was trying to say as it generally goes, the police firearms licensing employees have been known to target the certificates of people who post non-pc views online where they can identify the holder. The guy behind the gunculture.net blog being a well-known example. He had never threatened anyone or done anything except express his viewpoints. Yet he was threatened with a non-renewal for his FAC&SGC when the paperwork went through. All just down to his views on the right to armed self-defence and criticism of a policing association. The association in question wanting large amounts of public money to purchase custom firearms with specialist grips for female firearms officers. Yet those mere viewpoints alone were enough for the police to threaten non-renewal of his certificates. He got his tickets renewed in the end after representation from shooting organizations but the point remains: His legal gun ownership was threatened by police for publishing views online that they deemed verboten. So the message is: Exercise your free-speech rights and you loose your ability to legally own firearms??? I will repeat, I'm not talking about the linked story originally posted. I am somewhat suspicious of it's authenticity of whole truth. But I wanted to point out that some of the police have and will revoke certificates, for holder's undertaking perfectly lawful activities if they consider them "non-pc."
