dead-eye-dick
I've got, to the amussement of other site members, a nice tweed shooting jacket. :( It's lovely and warm, easy to move in and has big "cartridge" pockets. I also think it's quite smart (with propper trousers and "green weelies") 8) 8) gives me the "country gent" image 8) 8) Does anyone else wear fancydress while shooting.....if so what..??..or am I the most stylish shooter on the site.... P.S still can't hit anything for toffie but feels better to miss with an air of style   8) 8)

markadams
I wear a £300 Barbour jacket, I enjoy wearing it and it looks good but alass it does not improve my shooting. Mark.
berettaboy
I bought myself a wax barbour for our driven shoot. It rained heavily last weekend and I was soaked to the skin. I thought that these things were meant to be waterproof. I've only had it two months. Apart from that I wear the full works, Britches, gun socks and flashes and of course green wellies. :( but not when I'm shooting pigeon
Cranfield
If you are prepared to spend over £100, get a Musto coat. I have the Musto Country,it "breathes", is waterproof, windproof and washable. I got sick of Barbour wax on my car seats and having to reproof them, far too often. I wear it for formal and informal shooting days (also trips to the shops in the rain  ). Probably one of the best investments I have ever made. :(
markadams
I found wax jackets pretty useless for the above reasons, so I bought the Barbour endurance Trapper, it is non wax, breathable and washable. Excellent for shooting as it has a large pocket round the back for carrying the odd pheasant and large cartridge pockets with clips to hold them open. Mark. Cranfield
Mark, sounds similar to and almost as good as a Musto. :(
berettaboy
Cranfield, I have just been on the Musto site . I can't see a jacket called 'country'. According to the site, country is a range of jackets which are..highlands, whisper, dartmoor and Wessex. Which do you have? BB
NGhost
I got an ex RUC coat, dark green, gortex best coat I have ever owned, and only £70 from the army surplus. However I tend to use a £10 plastic thing for crawling around in the mud after bunnies and pigeons in the rain.

Cranfield
BB, I have just looked and its got "Musto Country" on the lefthand front pocket and inside the coat at the back. The only other label is the washing instructions. I have had the coat over 5 years, so they may have changed the model. Mmmmmmmmm Musto. :(
