Elmer_fudd68
Hi Thinking of getting an AA S410 ( carbine in beech w/out thumb hole). The cheapest kit i've managed to find which includes a 300 bar 3 litre cylinder charging kit (filled and with two extra fills included) and a Hawke nite Eye SR 3-12 x 50 Scope and mounts is £749. Good deal or not? Be grateful for any views on the rifle/ scope choice or both. Will be shooting bunnies, mostly lamping (already got a Deben Atom 100m) Got a BSA Lightning XL, but fancy something different. Have about £800 for whole kit. Was thinking of fitting a Logun silencer to the AA s410k as well Thanks in advance all
kipper
I would reccamend the AAS410K 100% its a fantastic hunting rifle I have shot 100's of bunnys with my AAS410K and it is still going strong its an old model (I braught it new about 7yrs ago) without the safety catch wich is the only thing i could fault it for. But ofcourse the one you would get would have the safety catch. Looks like a good deal you have found there, The only thing I would add to your list is a Harris 9-13 swivel Bypod. You will never look back at a springer again after you have had a PCP. Sorry i can not coment on the scope as I have not used one. silencer also? I have a AA on mine but I know the Whireuch silencers are also good. Good luck with the purchase Let us know how u get on Kipper.
MM
great bit of kit, but you could save a few bob buying second hand. there is not a lot goes wrong with these (apart from the odd seal) and they do the job.

Elmer_fudd68
I have had a look at Gun Trader and on this site for 2nd hand S410's, but they seem to be around £450-£500 and i can get a new one for £500. Will keep looking tho
ODG
Great bits of kit - have both the carbine and the standard barrel, and can't fault them. Mine are the older models without safetys. Very accurate, quiet, effective...

the_commoner
i would thoroughly recommend a s410 carbine, .177 flavour, walnut stock (new type with rosewood caps), 4-16x50 hawke map pro scope, sling studs and air arms silencer as a very good hunting set up - and i know where there is one going for £450 - 00 cash !!!! bullet boy
Awesome rifle!I got one in .177 and i`d never part with mine!
inshallah
I bought a 0.22 AA 310 in Jan. Same gun essentially. I'm very pleased with it as my first PCP. Still trying to sort out permissions, but the 310 has provided me with one woodie from the garden. I thought I'd bought a .177 and was a bit upset when I got it home and found it was .22. I'm actually pleased now, because range doesn't make so much difference at my comfortable hunting distance (say 20 yards), so until I get better, I'd rather have the punch of a .22. So, .22 AA S410 sounds like a good choice to me. I have a Nikko Stirling 4-12 x 50.

I decided to go for .22 over the .177 as i don't really do target shots, mostly vermin - rabbits. I know the .177 has a longer more accurate shot, but most of my kills will be around 25-35 yrds, so i'd rather have the clout of a .22 Will put a picture up when i get time. Think the harris bi-pod will make a big difference. Been used to a springer before, so looking forward to a PCP upgrade! No recoil should help the groupings by miles. New Deben Tactical Atom lamp and Hawke 3-12 x 50 AO Nite eye should give me an edge on the furry critters as well. Bunnies look out! Elmer's coming for ya! :good:
