Baldrick
Mosa, your new S&B 8x56 deserves a £10 lens pen. Don't learn the hard way about grit trapped in lens cloths.
f.a.c.sam
Ye lense pen is definately the way to go. I too learnt the hard way and used some kitchen towel stupidly, well needless to say it fell to bits and it looked like it was snowing through my scope after

scolopax
How do you use the lens pen? I have one put cannot bring myself to use the pad on the lens, i just use the brush part of the lens pen then swap over to a microfibre lens cloth. Baldrick
I just followed the instructions that came with my Leupold lens pen, re the pad: rub it in small circular patches over the lens, replenishing the cleaning particles from the little sponge concealed within the cap, rubbing away until the lens is free of grease and marks. I too was a little dubious at first. However a relative who works as a pro photographer also uses a lens pen on monstrously expensive telephoto lenses, which gave me some comfort. Tommo
I bought a pen from Reeves the other day, 1st ever - used to just use a scope cloth thingy - now all my scopes cost quite a bit, thought i'd better see what the fuss was about... Its a 'LensPen' - have to say it is bloody good! Tom
