Ferret Master
I would be up for a spot of fishing when the season starts. FM
activeviii
i could have my arm twisted for a bit of that. carp fished for 30 odd years then after a 38.10 i stopped going after lake carp and started on the river for them. did ok but then house stopped me. i have a little runs water in Gloucester where carp can go every 10 mins and average 12lb so a right giggle if you work at it. tirley court farm. a new challenge is always good. big bream i would like to have a go at as well as a barbel or three. hehe Phil

hendersons
barbel is a favourite of mine too maybe we could all have a bit of a day of it once the season kicks in nick
the_haganizer
Sounds good nick. Anyone know any really really good spots that we can all meet up at? So that we're all in with a great chance of catching at least one? :( Robo
mark_mjs93
i hope that you caught that slab on a comercial Haganizer? or a few weeks ago as in quite a while back on a river id be more than happy for you to come out on one of my many fishing trips when the season opened if you werent so far away and if that bream was a comercial, its nothing, when you catch a nice fish like that on the river you really do feel a sense of achievement, my record for river bream stands at 4lb 4oz caught at 4:22am on a sunday morning after a boring night fishing session.... nothing more uplifting than seeing the tip of your rod spin round after a long night of barely anything, (although i caught one of my many Big Perch... hoping to smash the Bedford record for them this season at the mo the beford record stands at 3lb or so for a perch, so im aiming to beat it) as i said mate if you were down my neck of the woods, id be more than happy to have you come out with me for the day.... ATB Mark :(
hendersons
august bank holiday monday would be good for me if thats ok with everybody else as i work weekends and i think at the moment warks avon is as good as anywhere for a few bites ive been told but i will ask around a little bit wen the season starts. In the mean time if you find yourself in my direction i know a little stillwater where i could show you a few fly fishing basics. should probably say i live between cirencester and swindon thinking about it maybe the place in lechlade would be ok not the main fishery think they would be a little large at first but the bushy leaze should be ok nick
the_haganizer
Mark, yes that bream was on a commercial, Linear fisheries near Oxford.. and although it may not be the biggest of bream, it was more that double my old PB so well happy! Also what you're saying about the sense of achievement being much greater for the river I can also agree with you on that, as last season I caught carp of 9 and 11lb on the river, and really was chuffed with them- just as much as my stillwater PB of 22lb. And as for how far away you are, well I am planning to do loads of travelling this summer, going round the UK and fishing loads of places that I haven't fished before and a few that I have but that are too far away for me to go to usually (Yorkshire!!) Nick, that would be awesome if you could show me some of the fly fishing basics.. My boss at one of my jobs has been saying that he would show me for the last 4/5 months, but instead he just goes off and fishes.. gives us a shout if when you want to go and I'm use I'll be free, or I'll make sure I'm free! Cheers guys Robo
mark_mjs93
well mate, if your ever down my end give me a PM and ill take you to some prome river carp spots, (saw a gorgeus fully scaled mirror spawning today, lovley fish, looked about 8 or 9lb LOVLEY fish, and there are some MONSTERS in the river near me... also i have a lake near me that is good for some sizeable chub, and i saw a couple of carp lurking the other day, and they recently put together some fishing bays (like wooden piers) and they are great for all your gear.... i have heard of linear fisheries and im planning to head up there one day... off to lawn farm tomorow in cambridge (up at 6:30am to get there for a good swim so i best head to bed night people....)
