Ferret Master
At least I haven't got to wait months to sample the 'results'. Once I have confirmed the finished product isn't toxic I have plenty of friends who will drink anything. I shall endeavour to do it properly next time but like you say, making it yourself must be more satisfying. Bit like loading your own cartridges really. libs
Well it sounds like I have started something up again here! My brew is sitting in the keg, been there for about a week now and I have had to tighten the tap several times so the pressure is building! Another couple of weeks and said brew may be clear enough to drink!!! How can I wait that long ?

It'll start with a f**t and end in a re-decorating job. Edited June 8, 2009 by Floating Chamber
libs
Well it said 4-8 days for the first bout of fermentation in an open bucket ( I left it 7-8 days I think not sure but it had stopped bubbling) The added 80g of sugar to the mix in the pressure barrel and its been in there for about a week, and should be clear enough to drink in another 2. Yea it was a packet, the brewbuddy cider kit. Was just apple concentrate and yeast really.
libs
Let this be the first of many. Its flavour id somewhere between vinegar and strongbow, but pallatable, so not bad for a first attempt I feel. stronger than most other canned bevvies, not sure exactly how strong cos i **** up all the hydrometer nosnense. :good:

Doc Holliday
Has anyone made cider from crab apples? Or is it possible? To my mind I don't see why it shouldn't be but I wonder what the end result would be?

Ferret Master
Just racked it off to remove the build up at the bottom of the DJ. Had a mouthful and the verdict is... It is suprisingly alright! A bit flat, not unlike a can of strongbow that was opened the night before endulged while having breakfast. How much sugar should I add now baring in mind there's now only closer to 4l in the demijon? Cheers, FM
