vole
Short of crating her is there anything that will stop her chowing my house apart? Have used Olbas and the spray on stuff you buy but she seems to like it.

Beechessam
What is wrong with a crate/cage?
ODG
Agree with DaveB - generally dogs only chew stuf because they're bored (or teething). More exercise, and failing that, crate her... :(

chandelierman
Unless it is a very young dog then Boredom is usually the most probable cause :( a micky muzzle would stop it fully opening its mouth or maybe another dog for a companion
vole
11 month old JR bitch. Gets loads of walks and days out. Goes everywhere with me. She was left for 15 minutes and reduced the value of my kitchen by quite a bit. She stays upstairs with us but seems to kick off when left for short spells. Lovely placid dog but I cant have this kind of wreckage. Been to obedience classes etc etc.

WGD
Crate - you may find something that repels her from the kitchen units but she'll find something else.

flytie
fairy liquid .................. worked for my cocker when she had a month of trying to chew through most of the house, i just smeared it on places she had chewed, stopped her almost immediately I too used fairy liquid and it worked a treat When my lab bitch stooped teething she was fine. I tried tabasco, chilli flakes, hot curry powder, fresh chilli and cayenne pepper all mixed together and smeared on an apple tree that she was threatening to ringbark! She just licked it off, never even had wind ft Edited May 21, 2009 by flytie
Devilishdave
If you go to your local equestrian shop and get some anti crib gell it is mega strong chille and you can paint that on and the dog wont go near it. It will probably go for somthing else instead but as the guys have said a cage will stop it cherwing the rest of the house. Dave

pyr8
give her loads of toys and get one of those food balls.it,s a plastic ball that you can hide treats in. the dog can only get the treats out by playing with the toy.hopefully she will grow out of it. Because you spend so much time and if you didnt get her used to being left early on. We had a simular thing because my other half was always with him whilst she was on maternity leave and then went back to work. I always give him a treat before I leave him now and I slowly built up the length of time he was left for, starting right down at a couple of minutes, then coming back and fussing him. Although there are loads of products that you could use I am not sure this cures the rootcause. Dan
