Colster
A mate of mine has caught the airgunning bug and is looking to get a spring rifle with scope for around £150. I know this is a tight budget but I have come up with the following possibles: BSA Supersport .177 w/o scope - £119 Crosman Legacy .22 w/o scope - £99 (Can't find much info on this but I think it's a Benjamin) Edgar Bros Mod 125 TH w/o scope but includes silencer/moderator - £150, so a bit over budget. SMK XS 36 Magnum Underlever with 3-9x40 Scope - £155 Any thought/problems with any of these or other options I should be looking at? He wants it primarily for hunting (pigeons, squirrels and maybe rabbits) with a bit of backyard plinking.
smudger1234
The supersport is the best rifle up there, as it has some resale value. At £150, have you constidered the Stoeger x10. Some shops do them for £150 with scope. Avoid the SMK like the plague.
amateur
Why new? He can get a better choice of quality guns secondhand, and usually fitted with a scope
SNAKEBITE
Why new? He can get a better choice of quality guns secondhand, and usually fitted with a scope Wise words indeed. Have a look at the for sale section on here on airgun bbs.
Carlisle
Theres a .177 HW35 for sale on the boards right now for £160 I believe. Get a Weihrauch you will never look back! Solid guns, built to last. A tad heavy, but you don't want a light springer anyway. Avoid SMK, avoid Crosman. WEIHRAUCH!!!!
Mr Sam
BSA super Sport would be the best, dont know where you got that price from tho? I just bought a second hand (but quite new) Webley sport for 80pounds so the there a few guns in that range. Have a look at Gamo as well air rifles, quite a few in that price range and very impressive on the foot per second. I was thinking of getting one like the delta of gamo 1000 but we dont have many gun shops in london

Seen a Gamo CF on here which looks good just waiting for my mate to get his grass into gear. I have a Gamo myself, Whisper X with a GRT Trigger and like that a lot. bruno22rf
If i was forced to take one of the above i would choose the BSA-then flog it to some poor soul and buy summit else.A few months back i sold my brand new HW80K on here -scoped and with a gorgeous sling (and custum brass trigger gaurd)-for under £200.Add a few more squid and you will get a decent used springer if you shop around-i know its not easy but try and buy a gun on its merits and not on its price.
