caplock
Go for it, 5yr gurantee, looks good, shoots good and feels right. I got one a few weeks back and use it all the time. 2thou down the tube so far and getting the feel for it now.30" 2097 model. Recommend them to any one, feels better put together than the Beretta that was traded in and that spent most of it's life at the gunsmiths being repaird anyway. Good bit of kit only lacking in snob value
Fisherman Mike
I have the 30ins Multi choke sporter and I think BarrieO has the 28ins version. At that sort of price they are as good as any and better than most. FM.
barrie0
Cooke I agree with caplock I have put through around 3000 carts through my 2097 Lanber deluxe (new version) and it has been fine , It took around a 1000 carts just to loosen up the action , I had a secondhand lanber game before that which was lighter in weight , but traded it in for the new lanber and that also was a cracking gun . On my new one there are a few slight cosmetic imperfections but the mechanics seem spot on and it balances fine when you hold it ,as said with a 5yr warranty they must have confidence in the build of the gun . As long as it feels right when you hold/point it why not but I have seen the new ones going for around £450 secondhand in as good as new condition on the guntrader website now and again . The chap who runs the clay ground where I go and who is also a CPSA coach had a go on the lanber a month or two ago and was well impressed with it said he liked the balance and pointability and he normally uses a £2000 beretta . I have to admit that I am tempted to get a Hatson Escort semi for the farm shooting as they have good reviews and are inexpensive but I may have to wait for a while as I have only just indulged in a Gamo cfx and Hw90 air rifle and am enjoying getting back into the air rifle scene also . There are a fair few forum members on here that have Lanbers so you are bound to have more replies .
caplock
Hi all Another point about the Lanber is the 3" chamber and a proof of 1375 bar as oposed to the proof of 1200bar on my other 3" gun. I assume this is for steel shot and other lead free alternatives should you need to use them?? I've the new model 2097 and have left the gun open on it's slip when clayshooting and lost count of the times people have asked to pick it up and try it for size. It certainly catches the eye. Good bit of kit I don't think you'll be disappointed. Cheers John.
barrie0
Caplock If you go to GMK the lanber importers website http://www.gmk.co.uk/ Click on the brochure link and get the free Lanber brochure , inside they also sell a variety of chokes for the lanber models including steel shot chokes and other goodies . cooke103
yeh its probably a bit too far for me. i like to get stuff from my gun shop because they have given me alot of help and some great deals, plus a few freebies . i know the people who work there and i often see them at my local clay ground. plus its not far to travel if anything goes wrong or that sort of thing, thanks anyway. jake

barrie0
Thats the Lanber field model cooke , as you have a different action and the gun is lighter than the sporter . The sporter as said has a different action , is heavier and a lot wider rib and foresight and also the sporter is supposed to shoot higher . But saying that it will be easier to carry about and before my new sporter I had a secondhand Lanber field and to be honest I could get better scores on the clays on the old lanber than my new one , still a cracking gun though . Take a look on guntrader.co.uk and browse at the lanbers for sale as you can see the different variations .

lanber1088
Had Lanbers for years, excellent for game or clays my lads used one since he was 11 now 19. Only problem we have had is the safety catch spring which only costs pence and is easy to replace. Happy shooting
woodyfirst
I often use a lanber. It belongs to a friend, I know nothing about it, what it is or anything. He had it given to him many a year ago, and has been round the block a few times, several thousand shots through it. It's beaten up, and looks a bit tatty, but I really love shooting with it! as i always say, its a tool, not an ornament! that said, I also bought one of my own once, and the firing pin snapped when I was cleaning it after its first shoot...the day I bought it. So it went back. I do love the other one I use, I just can't persuade my mate to part with it!
