Tobyb525
Has anyone used them? Are they as good as they say? Thinking about getting two for £55 inc floaters Will they make a big difference to my current 12 shell decoy pattern? Thanks, Toby Edit: (Don't wan't to splash out on a magnet just yet!) Cranfield
There have been a large number of threads on the subject of Air pros and the diplomatic thing to say, is that opinions are mixed. Put "Air pro" in the Search box for this section and you will see what I mean. Here is an example. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...&hl=air+pro

Tobyb525
Ok, looking at other threads people wouldn't rate them. Is their something better I can put on a floater untill I get a couple of birds on them? Thanks

Beardo
hyperflaps are better, but air pros work fine, neither beats the real thing
Cranfield
I use hypa flaps, until I shoot a couple (which I put on the rotary) and then put the hypa flaps on floaters, I think they are deadly on floaters.
rigwallet
got a pair they wont stop up on bar one wont spin its wings which after examination found out the holes drilled far the wing bar was out of line. shot more with bouncers in pattern would i buy them again (do pigs fly no think not)
Billy.
I sellotape live pigeons to the magnet. It's amazing how real they look when they're spinning round. I'm against airpros, they look like plastic crows with rotating fake wings from 150 yards, so not any good in my eyes. It was a joke about the sellotape by the way. As above, good advice. There's no better decoy than a real pigeon. Basically stick any decoy on your magnet and then change them as soon as you shoot two birds. If you do go down the airpro route, try putting the airpros near the landing area as it will entice the pigeons to land at the head of the pattern Edited June 10, 2009 by harfordwmj
Billy.
Actually, I take back what I said. Don't waste your money on a pair of deeks for your magnet, just go for a walk and shoot two pigeons, take them home and put them in the freezer. Use those next time and don't forget to defrost them next time you go out.

Above is the the cheapest option .... if like me, Mrs is not too happy and when you forget to take them out one day and decide to put them in the microwave....... you can guess the rest!
Tobyb525
Thanks guys, I agree dead birds are the way to go. For now I have managed to make a very convincing decoy for the floater (An old fishing whip) untill I can put a real bird on it! (will put pics in craft section tomorrow) Will a floater or two boost the no. of birds coming onto my patern? At the moment I only have 12 shell decoys so I think I need a bit of movement. Thanks, Toby.

Go and buy/make some spring sticks and wobblers (Ebay is about £5 cheaper than everywhere else) Take your sticks for the 12 deeks you have, cut them all in two and find 12 springs that will reconnect them to make them whole again, your half shells will look much more appealing. A floater or two will help, just put them about 80 yards out of your pattern, giving the effect of a pair of birds heading into the pattern from afar. I know the mods wont let me post the name of the company, but if you PM me, I'll send you the name of an online shop that sells full body deeks for cheaper than anywhere else.
