Marley29
Hi to you all, I have just got my shotgun licence and a new Beretta 686E. I am new to shotguns and have very little experience and would like help/advice on the following: My new gun top lever does not move into the centre position when the gun is closed. It remains over to the right a fair bit. I am wondering if this is a common issue with a new gun and if it will correct itself as it gets used? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mick
Gordon R
As you put many thousands of shells through the gun, the lever will become more central. The locking pins are tapered and this has the effect of automatically compensating for wear. All this is perfectly normal. Good luck with your gun and your shooting. beretta
if its off by a lot (20degrees or more) take it back to check it.
Marley29
Cheers for the replies. I would say it is around 10 degrees out. You have put my mind at rest

terry b
i have a silver pigeon that does the same, read an article in a shooting mag that says what the other guys state ;it centralises with use so no worries
Windy
Jason at Trulock (also Sporting Gun) told me this is one of the ways of telling how much a gun has been used. As said, lever centres with use. New/little guns start off centre.
