Had my Select Sporting II for a year and half and have had no problems at all. Maybe its a problem with the 'light' variant? Is the wood thinner in the problem area?

The picture you quote....look at it properly, the Taser officer is looking directly at the camera, not Moat. The 'snarl' appears to be part of some kind of speech. I think it is most likely the cameraman popped upped, early on in the stand off, before a thorough cordon could be erected. The officer appears to me to be giving the cameraman some 'advice'......perfectly reasonable given the circs?

friend of mine has a similar problem. he phoned the RSPB and asked if he could shoot the offending creature. Was told he would be in a world of **** if he did......I think he was told they are protected, which I'm not sure about??

I'm possibly in the minority, in that I like to 'travel lite' and dont go in for all this magnet gadgetry. I use 12 flocked half shells from UK Shootwarehouse........good quality and seem to work just fine.

Was looking for a cheap as chips 4x4 last year......came across a '94 Fourtrak Indy......paid £900 with full MOT. Has been great, especially with the snow this winter. Have had to put pads on the front and have the front n/s caliper freed up. Will need a small amount of welding on one rear arch and one sill.......but purely for my OCD reasons, would get by without. If it gets through the next MOT i'll be well happy cos I love it! Totally no nonsense.

what did you do with the side windows??

I use a pair of the Deben 'cheaper' leccy muffs.....£49, work fine for me.

A real benefit of this taser platform (other than range) is the lack of wires. A properly worked up mentalist with a sword will have little trouble breaking the wires, they break very easily. Plus the real world effective range of a standard X29 taser is 15ft. The published 21ft range is questionable, due to the amount of separation between the barbs. Would effectively require one of the barbs to strike the bottom of the leg, not easy with a moving subject. I woudnt be at all surprised if this shotgun based platform is approved by the HO.

F78 is LWB Fourtrak Independent 93-to end of build. F73 is SWB (I think!?)

never had a problem buying just a single box.....particularly when trying a new cart. In fact my local RFD writes the cost per box on the slabs, which are visible through the locked cages in the shop.

one of my previous springers had a very nasty accident whilst on a phessie shoot. I was working Eider in a wood when I heard an awful scream. Thought a dog had been shot. Looked at Eider and she had run onto a spear of wood, where a tree had fallen and splintered at the cracking point. She was speared through the chest. Sprinted with her to the nearest 4x4 and thrashed it to the vets.....luckily the spear of wood missed her heart. After a fairly serious bit of surgery she recovered well and lived to 11yrs, which wasnt bad for a very hard working gun dog.

is good to condition them to the 'bang'.
