been out decoying today, sitting in the hide and i heard a strange noise to my right.

stood up and saw an adult fox jump into a ditch out of sight followed by this one that was

not quick enough!.

Good shot (or three!)and atleast it wont bother anyone again.

One popped out of a ditch close by a few weeks back while decoying, but at that very moment i had a cup of coffee welded to my lips.By the time i picked my gun up and loaded heavier cartridges-the fox had gone.I even keep a few 36gm BB's on me for moments like this so it annoyed me a little cos it always seems to happen when im drinking coffee. :hmm:

ps.I agree about your gun-the wood has a beautiful grain and colour.

got it first shot!! the second made sure the kill was as clean as possible.

will let you into a secret......

the wood on this gun is plastic  !

its a franchi 712 with black action, purchased from a forum member a few months ago.

great gun, never failed to cycle right down to 1oz loads. i use it with the gas system on heavy

loads and it still cylces 30gm+ plus loads everytime.....but with less felt recoil.

foxes pop up in the most bizarre situations, another shooter nearby had one

wander into his decoy pattern 2 months ago.....it wont do it again.

first ever auto and iam impressed with it.

other guns is a 22yrd old beretta supersport, too bloody heavy for the field at 8lb 12oz

i guess thats why beretta bought the company, i understand it was for

the gas operating system that franchi used. now that is one hell of

a recommendation.

pic of good wood from my beretta, i wish it was the same on the auto..

but without the ugly extension  .
