I have a problem with my T8 mod on my 243 steyr mannlicher pro hunter

the bloody thing keeps working loose after about 10 shots .. I find this quite scarey is there any way or how do i go about stopping this problem ?

I cant use loctight as i remove the mod after each use as if you leave it on this can cause piyying and corrosion on the top end of the barrel ( so ive been told )

cheers roadkill

Get rid of it and buy a PES.

Hated my T8 with a passion.

I blame Sporting Gun / Shooter etc - I selected and bought the T8 mod after one of those infamous "moderators on test" articles, or should that be advertorials. Funny, the T8 came out close to top or rather a respectable second against a winning mod that I have never heard of and costing 3 times as much as the T8 (which pretty much put the T8 in first place unless you had just won the lottery).

Conversely the "testing" on my rifle delivered less than perfect results - noisy, random rounds clipping the edge on exit and a quick crud build up that liked to displace and fall back down into the barrel and action. Others on here have had them degenerate and the "sealed unit" perforate.

Never again.

My PES used to work loose, to the point a rimmy bullet did once catch the edge of it.... :good: a quick tap with a hammer and it was back in place.

My fix (not had a problem since) is just really tighten it on. Just go for it and don't be too worried.

If your still concerned, put a bit of masking tape on barrel and mod and cut. You'll see straight away if it's on the move.
